I discovered Letterboxing a couple of years ago and have fallen in love with it. It is a combination of a hike and a treasure hunt - and lots of fun. I've found places I never knew existed and learned a lot about the history and lore of places also.
I have discovered two places on the internet where clues can be found for the boxes. There is Letterboxing North America and Atlas Quest - there are many boxes listed on both sites, but there are some that are only listed on one or the other.
This past summer (2006) my granddaughters decided that they wanted to go "stamping" as they call letterboxing - so they each now have their own log books and trail names. This Spring we hope to plant our first letterbox for others to find. |
