Tony Hillerman lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although he has written other novels, his series of novels about Navajo Tribal Police Officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee are my favorites. In these books you find a well written mystery that is never what it seems on the surface, along with a look into the lives, history and customs of the Navajo nation in the four corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
