End of Winter
Winter draws its dying breath
Spring will soon abound
Flowers hiding deep inside
The cold and frozen ground
Will leap to life and beauty
With the sun's first golden rays
Birds will break their silence
In the lengthening of days.
Death and darkness must give way
To sun and warmth and light
Their hold upon the frozen world
Is shattered overnight
Snow and ice will melt beneath
The onslaught of new life
That fills the world within my sphere
With joy the days are rife
